Turnaround process to involve revamping the line of products and services to be more incisive
and efficiency gains
Turin, 9 March 2010
– The Employee Meetings approved the agreement recently signed at the Ministry of Labour
between Seat S.p.A., the Trade Unions and company union representatives, concerning a
reorganisation process aimed at boosting the company’s turnaround plan.
The plan, in addition to a new, more incisive line of products and services, calls for
organisational changes aimed at fostering the Company’s evolution towards greater integration and a
multimedia orientation to its offerings, as well as at yielding efficiency gains.
The fact that an agreement has been signed following an earnest, thorough debate between
union representatives and the Company indicates that, despite the understandable difficulties, a
dialog was developed, in accordance with the separation of roles and responsibilities, in pursuit
of the solutions best suited to workers’ needs and to allowing the Company to continue with the
turnaround plan upon which it has embarked.
Given the present economic and social context, it is especially relevant that the planned changes to Seat PG’s processes are to be implemented in a non-traumatic manner, through the use of the extraordinary redundancy fund for a total of 300 staff, and, in this context, an early retirement plan for those who meet the requirements.
Today’s result is further proof of Seat PG’s potential to resume growth, as soon as market conditions permit, founded upon a new, more incisive line of products and services aimed at meeting our clients’ new needs.
