Luisa Piazza, Seat PG, Is the New President of EADP

  • Luisa Piazza was chosen to chair the European Association of Directory and Database Publishers for the 2010-2012 period, during the recent annual congress in Venice
  • The newly-elected president is prioritising the global development of the directories market, and the growth of the association's members

Venice, 20 September 2010Luisa Piazza was elected President of the EADP (European Association of Directory and Database Publishers), at the 44th annual congress of the organisation, founded in Brussels in 1966.

The Head of Public Affairs of Seat PG, Luisa Piazza now leads an association with 180 members located in 36 countries worldwide, which represents publishers and suppliers of products and services for the publishing industry, as well as 5 national European associations whose members include 340 local directory publishers.

Since its foundation, the EADP has been committed to facilitate the growth and development of the market and its members, keeping a close eye on the debate at Parliamentary and European Commission level on the core issues relevant for the sector. The Association delivers a range of services such as the organitation of annual events, market's studies and analysis, periodic updates and statistical reports.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank every Member who elected me as President of the EADP, in recognition of the important role played over recent years by Seat PG, an innovative company at the forefront of its field", commented Luisa Piazza. "In recent years, the directory business has changed dramatically, and it is now our priority to redefine the model that has characterised the industry until now. The word "directory" no longer covers the broad and complex range of services (including printed and vocal resources, web agency and mobile services) that our companies are now offering."

"Over the next few years, the Association's main aim will be to broaden its horizons, expanding the traditional market in search of the new opportunities generated by the growing needs of our customers. These pressing changes need to be addressed quickly, and this also means evolving the mission and services offered by the EADP", concludes Luisa Piazza.

Before taking up her current position at Seat PG, Luisa Piazza played a leading role in the company's Marketing division, and made a decisive contribution to the transfer of traditional telephone directories into Pagine BiancheĀ® and their multimedia development. Between 2004 and 2006, she contributed to the freeing up of voice services on the Italian market, helping Seat PG to enter the market with the 12.40-Pronto Pagine Bianche service.
Since 2003, she has also held institutional roles at national and European level, representing Seat PG in the YPA (Yellow Pages Association, USA), the environmental sustainability association "Low Impact", and the European project "PrintPower", which deals with the sustainability of print media.
