More than 180 Italian Cities to Explore on the Internet from "Street" to "Street" with Paginegialle.it
 
The online tool offered by SEAT Pagine Gialle is enhanced with 79 new main provincial towns and localities to discover on the Web, to promote the “Belpaese” through a virtual street-to-street journey
 
 
Turin, Thursday, 12 March 2009 – SEAT Pagine Gialle, one of the main operators at world level in the sector of multimedia telephone directories and high-tech products for the Internet, has announced the expansion of its innovative platform for visual search that uses the Paginegialle.it portal to geolocate information on people, companies and shops using maps and high-resolution aerial images.

Seventy-nine new Italian localities and main provincial towns have been added to the online service provided by SEAT Pagine Gialle free of charge, bringing the number of cities to tour in the “Street” mode to 188. Users can visually travel along 13,450 km of roads up and down the country, stroll the streets and plazas of the most interesting sites, discover the beauty of Italy or browse interesting shops for a future shopping spree, following eye-level first-person photographic itineraries.
 
"Expansion of the service available on PagineGialle.it confirms our commitment to constantly improving the experience of online users who can access up to date and detailed content to explore Italy in an effective and entertaining way," remarked Massimo Castelli, General Manager for Italy, SEAT Pagine Gialle. "The excellence of PagineGialle.it is being increasingly recognised by many companies and public bodies which have joined us in our project, using the platform as an innovative new promotional tool."

The new geographical areas to tour online through the Paginegialle.it portal include numerous areas of tourist interest, such as: the rolling hills of the Langhe, with Alba and Bra; Franciacorta, celebrated for its wines; the Sorrento Peninsula and the Roman castles; St. Gimignano famous for its medieval historic centre; and Matera, with its "Stones" declared a Heritage of Humanity site by Unesco; Diamante, Tropea and the natural marine reserve of Capo Rizzuto in Calabria, and also Pula, St. Antioco and Cala Gonone in Sardinia, which are some of the most popular summer tourist destinations.

Special mention is owed to the city of Venice, no longer "navigable" only on its picturesque canals but also online, along its lanes and streets that stretch out for more than 30 km.

Last but not least, major towns such as Arezzo, Biella, Catania, Caserta, Crotone, Imperia, L'Aquila, Macerata, Potenza, Siena, Terni and towns like Albenga (Savona), Grottammare (Ascoli Piceno), Gubbio and Todi (Perugia), Ivrea (Turin), Nicotera (Vibo Valentia) and San Teodoro (Olbia-Tempio).

In addition the "Street" display mode, Paginegialle.it also offers an aerial view.
