A new platform that expands and restructures Paginegialle.it, Paginebianche.it and
Tuttocittà.it for enhanced navigation.
Turin, 17 July 2008 – SEAT Pagine Gialle, one of the world’s main players in the field of
multimedia telephone directories and hi-tech Internet services, has stepped up its level of
Internet innovation by revamping the portals
PagineGialle.it,
PagineBianche.it and
Tuttocittà.it, to meet the growing
demand from over 23 million Italian Internet users
(1) who are increasingly using the web for business and personal reasons.
The main sites of SEAT Pagine Gialle generate traffic of 340 million hits a year, and have
been integrated into a single new-look platform to provide companies, institutions, professionals
and private users with a more effective, immediate service.
PagineGialle.it and
PagineBianche.it will be online from today, while
Tuttocittà.it will be available
from next September.
PagineGialle.it
with its georeferenced search results, is the most popular resource for locating
shops and businesses.
By entering a name, commodity sector, product or keyword, you can find over 3.8 million
Italian businesses in the location you want. You can also narrow down your search by using the
hints and search filters.
PagineBianche.it is the most popular tool for
finding phone numbers and addresses of individuals, businesses and public institutions with
georeferenced results on maps.
You can also locate freephone numbers, postcodes and dialling codes.
Tuttocittà.it
is Italy’s best-known street atlas and can be used to calculate vehicle and
pedestrian routes.
“An increasing number of private users and Italian companies are turning to the Internet as a
search resource, to raise their profiles and boost profits,” stated
Massimo Castelli, General Manager for Italy of SEAT Pagine Gialle.
“Since 1997, when the Internet was just starting out, our company supported these needs by
developing innovative online services that have become increasingly effective and have kept pace
with the changing face of the web. One of these services was PagineGialle Visual, a highly
successful tool based on visual and emotional search criteria, which placed Seat at the cutting
edge of international web 2.0 design. These additional investments in SEAT portals are confirmation
of our commitment to develop the Web potential in Italy”.
New features include the redesigned presentation of search results on
PagineGialle.it and
PagineBianche.it. To make the results easier to
understand, content is organised into three areas: details of the person or company being searched,
contact details (address, telephone number, email address and website if applicable), and links to
other SEAT Pagine Gialle services including PagineGialle Visual.
The new-look
Tuttocittà.it, online from next
September, also has a centralised search screen with two options: it will either locate the address
requested by the user, or build a personalised route to get there. The results are extremely
accurate, and the private users and businesses stored in the PagineBianche and PagineGialle can
also be viewed on the maps.
With the aim of providing more space for content and helping users in their search, the new
platform also features a redesigned graphic interface: the new sites
PagineGialle.it,
PagineBianche.it and
Tuttocittà.it -
whose graphic layout has been adapted to the now very popular 1024 x 768 displays — include
hints and filters to guide users towards the best possible search result. For example, if you are
looking for a restaurant in Rome, the system brings up all the possible results (over 2000), and
suggests narrowing the search by dividing the results into specific groups: Roman cuisine (68
results), Mediterranean cuisine (16), international food (21) and creative cuisine (8). This way,
users can find the service provider who best fits the bill, in just a few clicks.
The new sites give even more visibility to SEAT Pagine Gialle clients, partly by optimising
the indexing on main search engines.
A new feature for business and professional users is
Contact Site, a new commercial offer for advertisers on the new platform from SEAT
Pagine Gialle. Through Contact Site, a company can have its own ready-to-use web page with a
detailed profile and complete with address and contact details, an interactive map so that
potential customers can find them more easily, and a ‘Build route’ option. Contact Site is a
simple, convenient way to raise your Internet profile and benefit from the visibility on SEAT
Pagine Gialle platforms as well as specific indexing on search engines.
