Sanremo, 21 April 2008 -
Igor
Varnero (Cabinet Member to Tourism and Events of the Municipality of Sanremo),
Daniela Cassini (Cabinet Member to Quality and Administrative Transparency) and
Alfredo Spalletta (Director of the Rome Internet Division of SEAT Pagine Gialle,
European leader in multimedia telephone directories and high-tech Internet services) are pleased to
introduce the new “Visual Sanremo” portal (www.pgvisual.it/sanremo).
The portal was created by integrating the databases of the
Municipality of Sanremo and
SEAT Pagine Gialle.
Visual Sanremo provides a complete and
geo-referenced overview of
tourist,
environmental and
cultural information, using the
maps, high-definition
orthophotos (aerial photography) and satellite images of the innovative
technological platform of
PagineGialle Visual (www.visual.paginegialle.it).
Thanks to the simple and user-friendly interface, on “Visual Sanremo” users can find every
category of tourist interest and more:
- Convention centres
- Museums and art galleries
- Tourist attractions
- Entertainment
- Live performances
- Sport and wellness
- Transport
- Where to eat
- Where to sleep
- Tourist information
There is also an
up-to-date section on what events,
happenings,
exhibitions and
performances are currently running.
“Visual Sanremo” also offers the unique opportunity: taking a
virtual 40-km
stroll through the centre of the ‘City of Flowers’.
It also includes the
SEAT Pagine Gialle system services (to search for businesses, products and
services in the Piedmont region or find individuals in PagineBianche) and the
exclusive content of “PagineGialleVisual”:
- Real time information on traffic on the main arteries of the region
- 4-day weather forecasts with a precision of 5 km
- 3D views of the entire regional territory
- Virtual strolls through the streets of Sanremo
- Create routes
- Book hotels
“Visual Sanremo” can leverage the significant traffic results of PagineGialle Visual — which
has reached as many as 1.5 million unique users per month — and the other online directories of
SEAT Pagine Gialle which have already exceeded 340 million hits this year.
"We are proud to introduce the Visual Sanremo portal, which I am certain will further
strengthen the relationship between Seat and the Municipality of Sanremo" noted
Alfredo Spalletta, Director of the Internet Division of Rome of SEAT Pagine Gialle. He added:
“This agreement is proof of the partnership of excellence that companies and institutions can
establish. The objective is to make full use of the opportunities provided by Sistema Italia, the
totality of how economics and politics functions, by proposing increasingly functional instruments
to meet the need for information, research and services of all citizens”.
Cabinet Member
Igor Varnero expressed his satisfaction:
“Implementing, together with SEAT, a portal dedicated to Sanremo is part of our strategy aimed
at increasing the visibility of Sanremo on the Internet. The Web is taking on an important role in
helping tourists find new vacation destinations. We will continue to expand the information
provided by the portal, which will play a growing role in this decision”.
Cabinet Member Daniela Cassini stated:
”We thank Seat for its distinguished collaboration, which will help us continue to offer
innovative services to our citizens and the guests to our municipality”.
