Turin, December 19, 2007 – Seat Pagine Gialle, the European leader and one of the world’s main players in the field of multimedia telephone directories and hi-tech Internet services, has won the “Media & Educational” category of the Key Award, with its 89.24.24 campaign, specifically for the 30” “Valerie” commercial.

The winning ad is part of the campaign created by SaffirioTortelliVigoriti, featuring three 30” films and 6 films of 15”), directed by Gabriele Muccino and produced by Indiana Production.

Once again, Bisio appeared as Walter, the historic star of all the commercials. This time, however, he was almost always surrounded by friends who relied on him to sort out a whole host of problems: such as booking a hotel as close as possible to the beach, finding a film that will keep everyone happy, or a pizzeria that can satisfy the appetites of an entire rugby team. With his traditional comic flair, Walter, now an expert user of the service, tries to find a “très chic” restaurant to have dinner with his Parisian friend, Valerie.

“Winning an award like this” says Francesco Riccadonna, ADV Manager at Seat Pagine Gialle“ always brings great satisfaction to everyone involved. From a business point of view, we know how effective the Walter campaign has been in engaging consumers and encouraging them to use the 89.24.24 service. This award gives us further confirmation of the fresh creative approach and durability of a campaign that has found favour with the general public for many years”.

Launched in 1989, the Key Award has gradually become established as a form of recognition dedicated solely to Italian commercials. Its aim is to stimulate creative approaches to designing and producing TV, cinema, web and mobile commercials, to enhance their effectiveness, technical and aesthetic quality and develop a culture of Italian-made advertising. With two editions held each year — one in spring and one in late autumn —, the event is an original addition to the festival scene, and has been designed to present new trends and developments in the world of commercials as soon as they appear.

The jury of the Key Award is composed of newspaper editors, journalists from leading monthly magazines and daily papers circulated throughout Italy, university lecturers in communications, chairmen of professional associations, art and film directors and other important players in the commercials industry. The jurors cast their votes in complete autonomy, without conferring with their fellow panelists.
